A Literary Breeze in Bafra: Culture and Art Days Filled with Inspiration
From April 24 to 26, 2025, the Bafra Tobacco Museum transformed into a vibrant hub of literature and poetic expression. As part of the Bafra Culture and Art Days, the Poets and Writers Gathering offered unforgettable moments for participants and literature lovers alike.
Opening & Panel: Why Literature Days?
The program kicked off on Thursday, April 24, at 1:00 PM, followed by a thought-provoking panel at 2:00 PM.
Emin Günaydın, Erkan Yıldırım, Canberk Uncu, and Hakan Karaali led the discussion titled "Why Literature Days?", highlighting the role of literature in preserving cultural memory, the literary legacy of Bafra, and the importance of supporting local writers.
April 24 – Talks

3:00 PM – İdris Anarat: In his session “Being a Poet in Bafra, Neyzen Tevfik”, Anarat explored the place of Bafra’s poets in Turkish literature and reflected on the iconic figure Neyzen Tevfik.

4:00 PM – Ali Ak: His talk “Bafra in the National Struggle, the People’s House, and the Altın Yaprak Magazine” shed light on the region’s cultural resilience during the War of Independence.
April 25 – Layers of Literature

1:30 PM – Celal Karaca: “Literary Magazine Publishing in Bafra” examined the history and significance of local literary publications.

2:30 PM – Hasan Yiğit: In “Why I Write, How I Write, and My Books About Bafra”, Yiğit shared personal insights into his writing journey.

April 26 – Women, Art & Reflections

2:00 PM – Sıddık Akbayır: In his session “Samsun Art Atlas: A Look at Bafra”, Akbayır discussed the region’s cultural and artistic heritage.

3:00 PM – Emin Günaydın, Yavuz Kabaoğlu, Hakan Karaali: The event wrapped up with a final session titled “Evaluating the Outcomes of Literature Days”, where organizers shared feedback and future goals.
